Merry Christmas from the Burnhams 2008

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

Bruce - is in his 14th year at San Fernando Middle School and believe it or not he still likes Jr. High age kids...amazing. He has gone back to coaching club soccer and is currently coaching for A.C. Milan girls under 11 and girls under 13, which conveniently enough our girls play on. Bruce loves coaching but more than that he loves coaching his daughters. He is still playing on the Bulldogs, his men's over 30 outdoor team.

Michelle - same as last year; still homeschooling the girls, still going to Bible Study Tuesday morning, still bowling Wednesday mornings, still on Jr. High staff at Grace Baptist Church, still driving the girls around from place to place, in dare I say my mini-van, and still loving every minute of it.

Kayla- turned 13 on October 21 and is in the 8th grade...an official teenager!!! Kayla is playing club soccer and loving her coach (i have a crush on him) and all her teammates. She is singing in two choirs and is playing the piano and singing in the Jr. High worship band at church. She also played in the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra this summer. If you ask what her favorite things are she will tell you "God, church, friends, ipod, soccer and TEXTING..." Between soccer, piano, choir, voice lessons, and church activities, (AWANA, youth group, shepherding group) she manages to get school in there.

Kami - turned 10 on April 29 and is in the 6th grade...Jr. High next year!!! Kami is also playing club soccer and loving her coach (i have a crush on him too) and loves all her teammates as well. Kami is singing in the 5-6th grade choir at church as well as continuing with piano lessons, with every intention of becoming a drummer. Little miss Kami is also a greater at Church as well as working in the Guest Center, so if you ever get the chance to stop by Grace Baptist Church be looking out for a cute little 10 1/2 year old to welcome you. So as the story goes between soccer, piano, choir, and all her activities at church, (AWANA, girls of grace, greeting, guest center) she manages to get school in there.
We pray all is going well with you, and we would love to hear from you all...Have a Blessed Christmas and Grace To You!!!

The girls went to see Santa with their brand new baby cousin Kaitlin.

Kayla's club soccer team had a pot-luck dinner and then some of the adults took the kids out trick-or-treating. It was fun seeing all the kids dressed up and everybody hanging out together. Kayla went as a bride and Kami was her flower girl, and Bruce was a hockey player.

Kami along with some of her club soccer team mates, ran the 5K on Nov. 2. It was the first time Kami ever ran 3.1 miles, she ran it in 33 min. Not bad for her first time out.
These picture are from Kayla's 13th Birthday Party. She had 22 of her closest friends come and celebrate with her at her bowling party. Everyone had tons of fun. I can't believe Kayla is 13.

Kayla's 13th Birthday Party

Sunday, August 24, 2008

Our super fun awesome friends Phil & Michelle and their 3 daughters, Sophia, Sasha & Gretta gave Bruce a pool party to celebrate his 40Th birthday. It was a party all for Bruce, lots of food, chocolate cupcakes and playing in the pool. Bruce was thrilled to have his nephew and niece Kenny and Holly there, who were visiting from North Carolina. It was so much fun and Bruce was really touched by all the effort the Marcellins went to, to make his birthday party so special.

These pictures are from our annual trip to Shaver Lake with college friends and family in July. We had 16 adults and 21 kids, well 22 if you count Bruce in the kid category. Fun Times...

Kayla played the piano and percussion in the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra. Bruce and I had a wedding to go to so my mom and dad took the girls to her concert. Who would have thought the Bruce and I would have a daughter playing in a orchestra.

Carpinteria July 2008

We had an awesome time in Carpinteria, we were there at the beginning of July. As you can tell Bruce and the girls had plenty of fun boogie boarding. We were with our friends the Hamburgers, we had a great time with them and their family. Can't wait to go back:)-

Wondering where Bruce is in these pictures, he was at home getting ready for our first of two camping trips.

Grace Baptist VBS

The pictures are from Vacation Bible School (VBS) at our church Grace Baptist Church. I was a table leader/room director for 5th grade, Kami and her friends were at my table, and Kayla was an outdoor music leader. The pictures were taking on Friday June 27th the last day of VBS. We had over 1200 kids attend, and in the 5th grade there were 166 kids. As you can tell from the pictures we had a lot of fun.

On a whim Kayla and I went to the US Open 18 hole playoff, Tiger vs. Rocco, Monday at Torry Pines in San Diego. We had no tickets and didn't really know what we were doing, but we made it there, got into the US Open, and saw Tiger up close. We had a great adventure from getting there, to parking, to actually getting into Torry Pines. (you'll have to ask us about it sometime) The man in the picture is some random USGA volunteer. Where's Kami? Don't feel to bad for Kami, she is spending the week at the beach with her good friend Kylie.
Our home school group has a graduation every year, the photos in the slide show are from the graduation. They are pictures of the girls and their friends. Kayla promoted to the 8th grade and Kami to the 6th grade. Kayla received the Christian Character Award, which made her mom and dad very proud. We are proud of both the girls as they are growing into lovely young ladies. Kami is a greeter at our church. She greets everyone with a big smile and a hand shake, she even has her own name tag, I guess that makes it official. Keep checking back for pictures of that to be posted.
